EEZYFLOW SLEEP COLLAR was created based on a personal need after living with snorers for several decades. At times I was going crazy from the recurring noise. This contributed to me often sleeping on the couch and in the nursery. Sometimes I even slept under the open sky in the archipelago with the dog instead of on the boat.
Many years of frustration
A lot of waking time helped me start to see a pattern, the snoring stopped in certain sleeping positions, usually on the side with the head back and mouth closed. An idea to be able to control the sleeping position in a comfortable way matured. Without knowing, what I was aiming for was a sleeping position similar to the stable side position. I talked to various doctors/sleep researchers, engaged in reading data. Learned more about snoring, its causes and sequelae.
Product development
The development of Eezyflow, financially, legally and product-wise, turned out to be significantly more challenging than I could have ever imagined. It took me 10 years of painstaking work.
EEZYFLOW – Near & Beautiful
Manufacturing takes place in Sweden and Denmark. They are cast one by one in specially made molds. The covers are sewn from Swedish-made exclusive cotton knitwear. The choice of 100% organic cotton was a matter of course. The sleeping collar is physiologically designed with comfortable support for the chin. Towards the neck, the sleeping collar has grooves, which gives a pleasant and airy feeling.
It is soft, pressure-relieving and forms from body heat. The adjustability in height is a must so that you can set it differently so that the head is held upwards, slightly backwards and the mouth is closed. You can also sit and sleep comfortably with it on trips, even for non-snorers. You avoid neck stiffness and dry mouth.
Snoring
Snoring occurs in the tissues that vibrate in the upper airways. The vibrations can occur high up in the nose, in the soft palate or behind the tongue, but usually it is a combination of these. It all depends on anatomy, weight, liver, age and how long you’ve been snoring and what sleeping position you have. Freer airways
When anesthetists are keeping the airway open in an unconscious patient, they usually tilt the head back to widen the pharynx. In addition, they close the mouth, push the lower jaw forward so that the tongue does not fall back so easily. Try how heavy it feels to breathe with your head bent forward instead of back.
Advice for self-care by the profession
One should avoid bending the neck forward during sleep, this can block/make the pharynx narrower. One should stretch the neck backwards for easier breathing. At the same time, avoid mouth breathing as the tongue tends to drop backwards. In addition, the nose cleans, regulates temperature and humidifies the inhaled air. You get better oxygenation and sleep more peacefully.
