Karlskrona and the city marina
The guest harbour is centrally located with full service, right next to Karlskrona Tourist Center, and you reach the city’s unique environments in a few minutes walk.
Karlskrona was founded in 1680 and the well-preserved architecture and town plan impressed UNESCO, who gave the city World Heritage status in 1998. Everywhere you go, you can see evidence of this; elegant churches, grand squares, parade streets and defence work that attract visitors from all over the world. On the west side of Karlskrona/Trossö, Karlskrona Sailing Society is representing another well-maintained and beautifully located guest harbour. At Saltö, the old fishing port, there are twenty guest berths. A popular fish restaurant is situated just next door and Saltö’s pleasant beach within a few hundred meters, Karlskrona is known as one of Sweden’s sunniest places!

Go kayaking – discover the unique natural assets and rich cultural heritage
Glide forward quietly, along the city shoreline, under bridges and experience fantastic nature and culture in the World Heritage environment, in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. East of the city, you can paddle in protected and calm waters around the large islands of Verkö, Säljö and Fäjö. Likewise, to the west of the city, around Långö and towards Nättraby river. There are several kayak and SUP rental companies around the city and in the archipelago.
By kayak you can reach the most hidden coves.
Aspö and Drottningskär Citadel
The citadel of Drottningskär is a complete and well-preserved defence structure from the 17th century and the great power era. During the citadel’s opening hours, tourist hosts will show you to activities, there is also a café/restaurant in the yard. Lökanabben guest harbour is situated right next to the citadel. There are several other exciting places to visit on this little island, such as art studios, defence remains and museums. Winding walking and cycling trails takes you around the island, with wonderful opportunities for rock bathing along the coast.
Hasslö – the island with its own vineyard
The vineyard on the island of Hasslö, is open throughout the summer, with wine tastings and vineyard tours. A local beer microbrewery is also located on this island. Two guest harbours are available. Garpahamnen, where you also will find a local fishing museum and a pleasant café/restaurant, and Hallarna, on the west side of the island.
Must see/must do in the city of Karlskrona
- Short distances – feel free to walk or cycle, the distances are short on the centre island of Trossö, approx. 1.5km from east to west, north to south.
- The Naval Museum – visit southern Sweden’s most popular attraction. An architectural masterpiece built on a pier. Have you been in a real submarine before? Take the chance while you are here, at the Submarine Hall, you can enter the Submarine Neptun from the Cold War!
- Join a guided tour in exciting and unique environments and learn something new! There are plenty of hidden rock rooms and former shelters, citadels and fortifications around here, truly exiting and interesting places to visit.
An archipelago made up of 1650 islands, coves and skerries
Karlskrona archipelago is part of the Biosphere reserve Blekinge archipelago, which was designated by UNESCO in 2011 for its high natural and cultural values. Be our guest and enjoy these unique places respectfully, by showing respect and acting responsibly, in that way we’ll be able to preserve our world heritage and biosphere area for future generations. There are several different sailing routes with well-marked fairways that help you pass tricky passages. Karlskrona’s inner archipelago is protected by the larger islands of Senoren, Sturkö, Tjurkö, Aspö and Hasslö. The eastern archipelago consists of a mixture of larger and smaller islands with many sheltered bays, which offer shelter from different wind directions. Stenshamn has a nice guest harbour, with a charming little “boat shed café”, trails around the island invites you to explore nature and wildlife.
The east coast with lovely spots to visit
Torhamn – the guest harbour in Torhamn has 20 guest places adjacent to a charming summer restaurant. Bird watching in the reserve at Torhamns Udde and Blekinge largest rock carving, are two sights in the area.
Sandhamn – the harbour was originally built as a fishing harbour in the late 1950s. Bicycles are available to borrow. Why not explore the fine roads and farm shops in the immediate area, while you are here?
Kristianopel – a charming little coastal village with a guest harbour, located northeast of Karlskrona. Restaurants, cafés, handicraft and little shops makes the village into a popular excursion. Don’t miss a walk on the mighty town wall!
Utklippan – the southeasternmost group of islands in the Karlskrona archipelago. The sunset is magical from these special islands, which are also nature reserves with a rich birdlife and seals that thrive here. Almost no facilities are available here, but the nature is splendid.
