Västmanland
The Strömsholm Canal runs from north to south in Västmanland and was completed in 1795. This marked the beginning of a prosperous era for iron processing and freight transportation from Dalarna. Västanfors guest harbour is located next to the Strömsholm Canal in the north, and a journey downstream past Hallstahammar offers magnificent nature experiences through the locks, until the canal flows into Lake Mälaren at Borgåsund.
