Hjälmare Docka guest harbour – Motorhome parking
Approximately 2 hours by boat, including lock passages, in the Hjälmare Canal from Notholmen in the south to Gravudden in the north. The Hjälmare Canal, built in 1639, is Sweden’s oldest artificial waterway, connecting Lake Mälaren with Lake Hjälmaren. With nine manually operated locks, the canal stretches from Gravudden near Arboga to Notholmen on Lake Hjälmaren. Gravudden is located 9 NM west of Kungsör on Lake Mälaren.
Visit the canal café with an exhibition on the history of the canal, see the old dockyard environment, experience the locks, hike or cycle along marked trails, swim at the sandy beach, go fishing, attend car meetups, visit antique shops, fashion and design stores, or explore alternative accommodations. Canal Day: Saturday after Midsummer weekend.
