Kalmar
Kalmar has one of the most popular guest harbours on the Swedish east coast. Here, you can dock right in the city, within walking distance to shopping and entertainment. Kalmar Castle, which dominates the centre, dates back to the 12th century but got its current appearance during the time of the Vasa kings in the 16th century. All year round, you can experience exhibitions, guided tours, and events. Kvarnholmen is the heart of the city. Here you’ll find a vibrant part of Kalmar with shops, restaurants, and cafés, but also many cultural buildings with exciting history. The city’s core was moved here in the middle of the 17th century – from its earlier location in the Old Town, near Kalmar Castle.
