Bergkvara (Torsås)
Bergkvara, the guest harbour outside Torsås, is found right by Dalskär’s camping site. Here you can wash away everyday stress, and enjoy peace and quiet in the rural surroundings. Small country roads, beautiful forest paths, and flowering fields make the area perfect for walks, bike rides, and other outdoor activities. Nature lovers can really satisfy all their senses. From here, there are fantastic views over Kalmarsund, and a couple of kilometres out, you see the small island Garpen with Garpen’s lighthouse. The boat Gustav departs from Bergkvara’s small boat harbour and comfortably takes you out to the island for a day-trip. On the island, you can have a snack at the café or eat a meal at the fully-licensed restaurant. Make sure to go up to the top of the lighthouse and marvel at the view!
Kalmar
Kalmar has one of the most popular guest harbours on the Swedish east coast. Here, you can dock right in the city, within walking distance to shopping and entertainment. Kalmar Castle, which dominates the centre, dates back to the 12th century but got its current appearance during the time of the Vasa kings in the 16th century. All year round, you can experience exhibitions, guided tours, and events.
Kvarnholmen is the heart of the city. Here you’ll find a vibrant part of Kalmar with shops, restaurants, and cafés, but also many cultural buildings with exciting history. The city’s core was moved here in the middle of the 17th century – from its earlier location in the Old Town, near Kalmar Castle.
Öland
The “island of the sun and winds” offers loads of experiences to enrich your boating holiday with. Enjoy strikingly beautiful nature, local crafts, rich history, and memorable meals. All along the west and east coasts, you are welcomed by charming guest harbours. Here you’ll find white sandy beaches, open views, and picturesque fishing villages. Mönsterås
The coast and archipelago of Mönsterås’ municipality span a 150-kilometre long coastline, and there are several small boat harbours and numerous islands, skerries, and rocks inviting you for sunbathing. Mönsteråsviken and Timmernabbenviken lead you into the centre of the urban area, where you can stretch your legs and stock up on supplies. Here, there are restaurants, grocery stores, and liquor stores. Mönsterås’ course is a popular disc golf facility offering challenging and technical holes in a beautiful setting. The town also has a well-preserved history and a beautiful church, first spoken of in the year 1326. In summary, Mönsterås is a mix of industry, nature, and history.
Oskarshamn
In the middle of the coast of Småland lies Oskarshamn with five guest harbours of high quality. Here, there are tour boats to the Blå Jungfrun National Park, and you can visit the historical Döderhultarmuseum to learn more about ”Döderhultarn,” who is renowned for his unique and expressive wooden sculptures. When enjoying the beautiful Misterhult archipelago, we recommend a stop at Valborgs in Klintemåla, the cosy harbour with a well-known café and restaurant. Don’t miss trying their delicious waffles or attending one of their events. Here, you can also shop online for groceries with delivery to the quay. If you want to visit Oskarshamn, you should dock at the centrally located Oskarshamn guest harbour. Within walking distance, there are boats to Blå Jungfrun, shopping, and restaurants. The harbour also offers a parking place for motorhomes, which was voted Sweden’s best in 2022.
Västervik
With over 5000 islands, skerries, and islets, the Tjust archipelago is a paradise for boating enthusiasts. From Blankaholm in the south to Loftahammar in the north, you’ll find a network of guest harbours. They connect the Tjust archipelago with its picturesque communities on the mainland. Västervik is the central place of the archipelago, with just over 20,000 inhabitants. In the summer, the pace increases and the city awakens. Go on an exploratory journey in the centre, browse the shops, and enjoy the local food at the restaurants. Inside Västervik, you’ll find three guest harbours; Slottsholmen Marina, Pampas Guest Harbour, and Gränsö Castle. In the archipelago, you’ll find Idö, Hasselö, and Rågö.
